Are there any phrases that drive you crazy?
Time for a pet peeve reveal...What phrase or saying drives you nuts?
The one that gets my nerves raw is "My Bad". I don't know why...maybe it is the poor english, using an adjective as a noun...I don't know. Maybe it is because it is a lame way to say, "I'm sorry." I just cringe inside whenever I hear it.
Real world according to who? The Know it all idiot that said "Welcome to the Real world"
I hate the arrogance in that statement. Somehow they have been in the real world where mine has just been fantasy? Normally people say this when something goes wrong or different than I expected.
I hate it when I'm having a rough time and some Pollyanna comes along and spews cotton-candy phrases about postivism. I'd much rather they share my suffering for two seconds first, before they dismiss my difficulty with a trite phrase.
Yes, the phrase...I peed my pants, or I crapped my pants. One cannot "pee" pants, nor "crap" pants. But, one can wet their pants or pee IN their pants or poop in their pants or crap IN their pants.
Well I haven't heard it for several years but it made a permanent scare on my brain. As a city bus driver in Seattle. " Do you Go downtown?" Do you know who this is?

How about, "Been there done that"? That out lived it's life about three weeks after it began.

I think it was Morpheous, saying it to Neo...
"Just think positively!"

Where did this come from?

Hi, Rick...you don't go downtown anymore, do you?
